Today we drove to South Dakota. We visited Walnut Grove, the Pipestone National Monument, Corn Palace and Wall Drug. We saw ringnecks, antelope and many cattle. Fields of sunflowers and windtowers. Pipestone is a red stone mined only in this area by the Indians and used to make their peace pipes. Tomorrow we will head for Mt. Rushmore about 75 miles from Wall. We love satellite radio's miles and miles of 60's and 70's! :) Total mileage so far is 1,830 miles.
Let retirement begin!! August 17th Squirrel, Marlin, Marylou, and Don are getting in the car and driving across the country!! There are no set plans. Just driving and exploring the great USA!
